Comment from Powerhouse Energy Group CEO, Paul Drennan-Durose
“Recent global events are accelerating the shift towards greener sources of energy in the UK, across Europe, and internationally.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that Powerhouse Energy Group warmly welcomes the UK Government clarifying a clear direction of travel, as well as an acceleration of the production of hydrogen today. The aim of doubling hydrogen production by 2030 sets out a clear path for technologies, such as ours, to play a key part in reaching this goal.
Powerhouse Energy Group is also seeing European policy makers, influenced in no small part by the war in Ukraine, accelerating the promotion of investment in renewables and other new energy technologies, including hydrogen production, as an important component of energy security. For example, Germany, plans to accelerate its use of renewable energy and reach 100% clean power by 2035, 15 years sooner than its previous pre-war target. More than ever, countries that don’t have their own energy sources will need to fund and develop them – which for many will mean investing in wind, nuclear, solar, and hydrogen power.
Seeing the UK Government act in this way is an encouraging step in the right direction and at Powerhouse Energy Group, we look forward to helping the UK meet these objectives, as well as working with countries on an international scale reach their own goals on increasing hydrogen production.”
